Boppy Newborn Lounger Review + Giveaway

Boppy has been a brand name that I've known to be trusted since my 1st baby was born. If you ask many moms what baby must-haves are on their list, Boppy is most likely something they recommend. Since having my first baby, Boppy has come out with several new products that I'm excited to use with this baby. They sent us the Newborn Lounger in the Daisy Basket print for our newest addition who is due in 8 weeks.

Our newly designed wipeable Newborn Lounger is the only support pillow designed with a recessed interior perfect for a newborn's bottom. While baby is lounging safely under your watchful eye, your hands are free to grab a toy, warm a bottle or snap a zillion photos.

With a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a newborn, I'm going to need several products to help free up my hands. The Newborn Lounger is shaped perfectly for a little baby to sit comfortably while mommy can play with older siblings, grab toys, referee sibling fights, clean up, and much more. Since our baby isn't here yet, we used my cousin's little boy - 'Baby Z' - to test out the Newborn Lounger. He is about a month old in this picture. I always hide faces of children who aren't my own, so I've put a star over his face.

I've already found many great uses for the Lounger. It is perfect for taking pictures of baby. It sits them up just right so you don't have to use blankets and such to get them in a good position for little photo shoots. As you can see in the picture below, it is also great for allowing siblings to bond with baby. That is actually Isabella beside 'baby Z' talking to him. It also keeps baby sitting up a little, which is especially great if they have reflux.

The Newborn Lounger is very light and has a handle on the top so that mom can easily transport it wherever she needs it. I would often lug a bouncer or portable swing upstairs with me when getting ready, but now I can just carry the Newborn Lounger. My only issue is that it doesn't have a removable cover. Babies spit up - a lot - and it stinks. Yes, the surface is treated to be water resistant and is wipeable, but if you're a mom, you can back me up on the fact that spit-up is potent! You shouldn't put a blanket under baby unless they are tightly swaddled, because they might slide down, so if they spit up, its going on the Lounger's fabric. The Boppy Newborn Lounger can be washed if wiping that spit up doesn't get the smell out, but I have to wonder if it will get lumpy after a while. Even though it doesn't have a removable cover, I can see us using the Newborn Lounger often!

Britax FRONTIER 85 SICT Booster Seat + Giveaway

With Evan being 4 years old, it is time to look for a booster that is going to last for many years - especially since it seems like the age that they recommend children to be in car seats goes up each year. Britax has been one of my favorites for many years because I feel like my children are extremely protected while riding in their car seats. At 2 1/2, Isabella is still in her ADVOCATE CS Convertible Car Seat, but is now facing forward. The Britax Frontier 85 Sict Booster Seat has been a fantastic transition for Evan.

Designed with advanced technology to keep children protected and in a five-point harness for as long as possible, the FRONTIER 85 SICT Combination Harness-2-Booster Seat helps safely graduate children who are at least two years old and weigh at least 25 pounds from their convertible car seats. By removing the harness, the FRONTIER 85 SICT is easily converted to a booster seat for older children who are at least 4 years old and 40 pounds.

The FRONTIER 85 SICT has all the safety, comfort, and ease-of-use features that the FRONTIER 85 has to offer. In addition, this seat is equipped with Side Impact Cushion Technology (SICT) for advanced side impact protection, and an Easy-Remove Cover that can be removed for cleaning without disassembling the harness or uninstalling the seat from your vehicle.

While he is most likely 40 pounds, I will stick to the five-point harness option on this car seat for as long as possible. Once I feel comfortable removing the harness, it converts into a booster seat that he can use with a regular seat belt until he no longer needs to sit in a seat.  As you can see above, he can use the Frontier 85 until he is 120 pounds and/or 65 inches tall.

Unlike many boosters on the market, this one provides Side Impact Cushion Technology which features energy-absorbing cushions on the exterior of the child seat to reduce side impact crash energy by 45% by diverting crash forces away from your child and providing extra protection for the adjacent passenger. The headrest is easily adjusted to fit your child's height as they grow.

There are two cup holders so that they can have a snack cup and drink cup at arms reach. There is also an arm rest on each side to help provide a secure fit.

While the Frontier 85 Sict is larger than most Booster Seats, I feel more comfortable with my precious cargo riding around in this one. It has more safety features than most that I've seen and having it be a little larger than others means there is more padding and protection surrounding him. According to the Chinese calendar, 2012 is the year of the Dragon.  Not at Baby Gizmo! We consider it the year of the Donkey! The Bugaboo Donkey that is! We ended 2011 with some pretty great giveaways and we wanted to start 2012 with a bang as well. Why not start the year with the biggest giveaway yet?!?  Well, it’s the biggest giveaway of 2012 so far!  That’s right we are giving away a fabulous, chic, fantastic, celebrity-worthy Bugaboo Donkey to one lucky winner. Woot! Woot! This stroller was so special that when it was announced we even did a pretty funny ”Unauthorized Donkey Video” when they first unveiled it in the US at the ABC Kids Show. A Real Christmas Card! :)

To all the mommies out there, trying so hard to make a pretty Christmas card for family. Or just take a family picture for that... I feel for you! I'm pretty sure that it has to be one of the hardest things for my family! lol
 This is the real picture the one that we got and had to keep taking them because it just wasn't working!

Oh the joys of being a parent. lol ;) My children are such a blessing and I am very greatful for them. I hope they have tons of children and they are just like them.. lol

 We finally got a good picture, but we went with the real one anyways. I love pictures they are such a good memory. I hope all of you take tons of pictures. Hope your holiday pictures turn out wonderful!
